Both Mattie Larson and Samantha Shapiro competed today at the 2009 Gymnix World Cup in Montreal, Canada. Mattie won gold medals on balance beam and floor exercise scoring 14.65 and 14.95 respectively. Sami won a gold medal on uneven bars with a 14.725.

Yesterday, Hallie Mossett helped the USA team to win a gold medal ahead of Canada and Russia. She finished fifth in the all-aroudn with a 53.45 and 4th on vault.

Hallie competed earlier today at the USA vs Japan, where she helped the USA team to win ahead of Japan. Hallie finished 4th in the all-around and third on bars, beam and floor. Good job Hallie!

Last weekend, Samantha Shapiro, Corrie Lothrop and Olivia Courtney traveled to Rosario, Argentia for the Pan American Gymnastics Union Event Championships (PAGU). On the first day of competition, Sami placed 1st on both uneven bars and balance beam and qualified to event finals. During the event finals, Sami scored 15.425 on uneven bars and 15.725 on balance beam to win gold medals on both events. Good job Sami! You can watch her uneven bars routine, here.

Samantha Shapiro will travel to Rosario, Argentina for the Pan American Gymnastics Union Event Championships on November 19-23. The USA team is Sami, Corrie Lothrop of Hill's, Rebecca Bross of WOGA and Olivia Courtney of Orlando Metro. Congratulations Sami!

In Philadelphia, PA, Mattie hit all 8 of her routines and finished 7th in the all-around as well as 3rd on floor. She, along with 12 girls, was named to the 2008 US Olympic Training Squad! Congratulations Mattie!

Congratulations to Samantha Shapiro, Hallie Mossett and Mattie Larson - 2008 US National Team Members! Both Samantha and Hallie competed in junior division where they placed 2nd and 9th respectively. Sami also earned two gold medals on uneven bars and balance beam. Mattie Larson finished 7th in the all-around in senior division as well as 3rd on floor exercise. She qualified to US Olympic Trials in Philadelphia, PA. Congrats girls!

Sami Shapiro was selected to represt the USA team at the Pacific Rim Championships in San Jose, CA. She helped the USA team to win ahead of Canada and China. She finished 2nd in the all-around scoring 60.100, right behind USA teammate Rebecca Bross. She qualified to four event finals, where she finished 7th vault, 1st bars, 5th beam and 8th floor. Congratulations Sami!
