In her junior year on the U.C. Davis gymnastics team, Carolyn was one of the stalwarts on a bars squad that led the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Competing 12 times on bars, Carolyn had only one fall all season, compiled the 2nd highest bars average on the team and was ranked 7th on bars in the conference. At the MPSF Championships (March 24, 2006), she tied her personal best on bars of 9.750, which she had achieved just a week earlier. She helped the U.C. Davis team finish 2nd at both the MPSF Championships and the USAG Collegiate National Championships (April 14-16, 2006).
